Massapequa Turkey Trot
Runners, thank you for your support of the Massapequa Turkey Trot. As a result of your participation in this event, we will be able to make a sizeable donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. LLS is very instrumental in the fight against blood cancers.
In anticipation of the race, here is some important information:
There is no rain date. Our race will go forward on Thanksgiving morning.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT-RACE PACKET PICK UP
1-5:30 p.m. You must pick up their race packet in the back of John J. Burns, the night before the race. We will be in the building in the back of the park, near the boat launch. There is only one entrance to the park. After entering the park, continue on the road, heading south. The building is located to the left of the boat launch.
It is okay to have someone pickup the race packet for you. Please note that we will have very limited race day packet pick up.
RACE DAY PARKING
If you want to leave right after the race, do not park in Burns! Once the race begins, only those parked in the west lot can leave. For the safety of our runners, all others must wait until after the race. There is ample parking at Marjorie Post Park and the surrounding streets.
The Fun Run will start promptly at 8:30. Please be respectful of the young runners as you prepare for the 5k. Their race course is the interior loop at Burns. Once the race starts, please stay off the interior loop.
The one and only water stop will be just past the one mile mark on West Shore Drive.
DAY OF RACE REGISTRATION
We will have limited day of race registration from 7:30-8:30. We can only accept cash on race day. We cannot accept cash or credit cards. The cost for the 5K is $35.00 and the Fun Run is $10.00. These registrants will not receive a tee shirt.
We will have bagels/bananas and water after the race
