We are Foley Griffin LLP and Joseph Law Group, P.C., two law firms that are incredibly proud to sponsor and organize of the Massapequa Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot charity event.

The race was founded in 2010 as a way of giving back to our community and supporting the fight against all blood cancers. The event has turned into a wonderful Thanksgiving tradition for nearly 2000 of our friends and neighbors. All the proceeds are donated to charity and over the years, we have raised several hundred thousand dollars for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. In 2023, we are proud to also support the John Theissen Children’s Foundation, a local charity, whose mission includes assisting sick and underprivileged children with toys throughout the holiday season, as well as helping families defray medical expenses, and providing hospitals and child-care facilities with therapeutic and recreational equipment.

Who We Are

Held Thanksgiving morning each year, the Massapequa Turkey Trot is a 5k run attracting nearly 2000 runners of all speeds (including walkers). Prior to the start, there is a fun run for children. For many, this event is a wonderful Thanksgiving Day tradition, ensuring the participants have an appropriate appetite for their Thanksgiving meal! All net profits are donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to assist in their fight against blood cancers, as well as the John Theissen Children's Foundation, which helps sick and underprivileged children across Long Island in any capacity possible.
